Happy Friday!!!

It's Friday! I love fridays. There's just something exciting about fridays don't you think! So I've been creating and getting into new things lately...I've started smashing for the first time and there's this thing called filofaxing?? Yeah I'm so all up in that thing. But that's for another day...

Today I wanted to share a quick project using Graphic 45 Secret Garden papers. I made a hanging sign for a friend to display in her craft room. There's a whole wack of different elements used - gesso, some texturing, flowers, tulle, some prima embellies and of course LACE!! I <3 lace! There's also a kaisercraft wooden frame and the cameo stamp is from Hero Arts.

Have an awesome weekend!!!

Prima Romance Novel Layout

Hey everyone!

I am happy to share with you a layout I created of me and my sister taken when we were on our way to the Philippines last month. It was such an awesome trip!
Anyways, I pulled this pic off of my sister's instagram and chose to use one of my favorite PRIMA lines "Romance Novel". (Yes, I hauled it out of my precious secret Prima stash...shh!) ;) ♥
I did some stenciling for the first time, yeash I need more practice lol. I also cut up my only Prima flower vines left "flowers tendrils grape" is what its called. Its so beautiful and one of my absolute favs that I am a little sad that that was my last one   :( *sigh..
There's also some laces and WOC cherry blossoms that I purchased from my friend Edith, some Tim Holtz embellies and a Prima button from the Engraver line.
Oh! And I cant forget the tulle! Gives the layout some awesome texture! I am in love with this tulle I found at my local fabric store.  Oh and that tiny ornate frame thats there? I made that using a Martha Stewart's mold. LOVE!!

"Pretty Girl" Prima Layout

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! I know I did, but it sure did fly by fast! Did you get what you wished for? :)

So for my first project of 2013, I created a layout using Prima's Tea-Thyme papers. I LOVE this collection! It was so easy to create with! I did a bunch of fussy cutting, and distressing and I even used some Gesso to white wash part of the background paper. So fun!

Here it is in all it's yumminess! Ain't she a beaut!

I found this AWESOME pinned rose tutorial on pinterest where she used the Donna Salazar Spellbinders "Rose Creations" die, and seriously, I fell in love with it. All I did differently was use a paintbrush to curve the petals, whereas she pinched it with her fingers. It was so super easy to make, and for those of you who have some homemade flowers under your belt, this tutorial will be a cinch for you! Even if you've never made homemade flowers before, hey, why don't you try it!

Here's a close up of the rose blooms

For a more closer look, you can watch the video with more details on the layout :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

More Copics Please!

Hi everyone!

I am still so very hooked on my copic markers. I neeeed to get more!!! I've been researching online for some new color combos for different hair types, and skin colors. There's just so much out there, that it's enabling me to keep investing in more copics! And to practice, I find that the Greeting Farm stamps are just the way to go. They've got the big hair, big head, and tiny body LOL. I am in love with them! If I'm just looking for some copic inspiration, I just head over to the TGF website!

Here's another holiday card I created with my copics and the Birthday Anya 2 greeting farm stamp. The designer paper I used is Recollections Sugar Plums, and some Spellbinders dies.

I love that the TGF stamps are pretty versatile, and not specific to any season/holiday. For this card I used Birthday Anya 2, colored her dress in nice Christmas greens, and added some sparkle on her headband and shoes with my Atyou Spica Pen, and voila! She looks ready for a holiday party!

I also love to fussy cut and paper piece! I paper pieced her cupcake's paper liner using some designer paper. I had some sparkly silver paper that I used to paper piece the frosting on the cupcake. I thought it would help make her look more Christmasy :)

That green flower is an old Prima flower that I had, I cut off the original spray, and used a rose resin piece for the center. I added some diamond dust to the petals for more sparkle of course ;) Twisted some green floral wire, glued on some red prima roses and done!

Here's the copics I used.

Can't believe Christmas is right around the corner! I've just got some stocking stuffers to look for and I'm done! I can't wait. I tell myself every year, "I'm going to start earlier next Christmas". Then Christmas creeps up and I still wonder why I never followed through on that :S

Happy Holidays!

TGF + Copics = <3

I have been practicing my copic coloring, and holy smokes, I totally forgot how much I love playing with my copic markers. I was inspired by a youtube video I watched the other day and it really made me want to pull out my Greeting farm stamps (which BTW, I also forgot how much I loved) and color away.

So here is a simple card I created using my copics, Cheeky Xmas TGF stamp, my spellbinders, and some Recollections paper.

I wanted her to look like she was frollicking in the snow, so I used my glossy accents to glue some Diamond Dust to the white areas of her hat and outfit. I don't know if you can tell, but I had some Iridescent Medium hanging around and wanted to try it out on the red area of her santa hat. (oh, ps. the verdict is still out on that..)

Here's a pic of the copics I used.

Happy Holidays!

CHRISTMAS CARDS!!!

I am sooo on a christmas card kick this week! Now, I know that it's been over a year since my last post, but I am hoping to get back to creating projects. I get really lazy when I have to upload pics and edit and do all that computer-y things. For me, I would rather watch youtube vids, shop online, or live on pinterest for hours and hours!

So since Christmas is around the corner, my buddy Lisa is hosting a Christmas Card Exchange/Swap over on Facebook. What better way to kick in the holiday spirit AND get my creativity flowing again! We were asked to create 10 cards, and we would receive back 10 various cards that the ladies in the swap made.

I'm a very slow starter and if my mojo leaves, oh man is it ever hard to get back in the game. So to keep myself going, I turned on the Christmas songs, and made a quick sketch of what I wanted my card to look like.

Here it is!

The designer papers I used were from Recollections "Sugar Plums", and the craft layer piece with the Christmas words is from the DCWV "The Crafty Christmas Stack", which I all found at my local Mikes. Oh! BTW, the card measures a 5x7 A7 card. :)

I freehand drew, and cut a triangle out of white shimmer cardstock, cuz I thought it would look nice peeking out from under the doilies, then cut up some more big and small doilies into quarters, distressed the edges a bit with walnut stain distress ink and layered them on top of eachother over the triangle I had cut. Added some stickles here and there and voila! A very pretty shabby christmas tree!

I made 5 in green and 5 in red, and I even finished off the inside.

Happy weekend everyone!

Prima Printery DT Project

Hey everyone!! I just wanted to stop by real quick to show you what I designed for my LSS for the month of September. I fell in love with the new Prima Printery line that just came out and all it's awesome fixings. It's such a beautiful collection that I was super psyched to work with it!!! I created an altered canvas piece as well as a card using all the new Prima goodies!!! Of course, with the exception of some I AM ROSES flowers and the stamped sentiment...

LOOOVE IT!!

I was also challenged to alter a 15" by 18" canvas piece using the Prima Printery 6x6 paper pad, and this is what I came up with!

I chose 6 papers from the collection and adhered them side by side to create one long strip to go across the canvas along the top and the bottom. To finish it off, I covered the middle with some thick lace! :) Here are some more close up shots of my canvas piece.

Scrap Ingredients:
-Prima Printery 6x6 Paper Pad
-Prima chipboard pieces
-Prima resistant canvas
-Prima trim
-Maya Road brown rosette trim
-TH dress form die cut
-I Am Roses flowers
-Prima say it in crystals

All the details on this project will be posted on my YouTube channel soon so come by and check it out!!

Happy Scrapping!
